Introduction: Helping Someone Love First
The is quite a mouth full; yet, deep, and meaningful. Life is so complicated these days. We are so busy trying to survive in this world that some of us are lost. Truly, lost within our own body and mind while trying to survive in this chaotic world! Remember the simple life when people visited with family and friends on the porch with no cells phone! Now, we cannot even imagine driving in a big city without Google Map Ap on your cell phone! Like straight panic mode!
If you are physically, mentally, or spiritually lost, you may begin to feel overwhelmed with no plan on how to press the restart button. Recognizing that you are lost and finding someone to help you can be your greatest achievement. Intervening while you are at the crossroads in life is so important.
For some people, mental illness is a major obstacle, but we need help each other instead of passing judgement. We are probably all guilty of that somehow and that is ok if we are willing to recognize that we need to learn how you can help. Helping someone to seek intervention is the best thing you can do. Learn that mental health illness is a disease just like diabetes and heart disease. In this disease process, a person cannot make rational decisions. Someone who has chronic depression and anxiety fight a constant battle every day of their lives. Let’s love and not hate.
I believe one thing: “You” must Love “Yourself” in your heart before You can love Anyone else. “
It is hard to love yourself if you can’t see your own self-worth. Fixing “YOU” is not easy. It may be the hardest thing to do in your life! People who have self-worth and a strong faith may not understand this struggle. I have heard people say things like: If you have faith and pray you will be Ok! This is not true for everyone because some people need to be loved and comforted to see that faith is an option. In this mental health crisis, faith is not a “simple” answer because they are trying to decide whether to “live” or “die”. At this major crossroad, I beg you to help others who are lost and can’t find themselves. Help someone find the faith to love and live! Please continue to pray for those with mental illness but offer to listen if they need to talk.
We are put on this earth for a greater purpose! Be an advocate for mental health. If you know a someone who is affected by suicide, be compassionate and let them know you care. Also, remember to hug them and be supportive even if it seems uncomfortable for you.
