Section 1: Is “Love” Just A Word?

Love is so much more than a word. It’s a powerful four letter word that can change your life. Just as important as learning to feed yourself, your must learn to recognize what “Healthy Love” looks like. First, you must love yourself. In fact, it is the most important thing for your overall well-being and happiness. Believe me, that is not said lightly for sure! Remember, love for God is a personal journey in which you need to pursue in accordance to your faith. Many people find a greater love for themselves once they have connected spiritally.

When trying to love yourself, you may need to overcome many different obstacles. The hardest thing about self-love is to overcome self-criticism and negative self-talk. Remember to practice self-compassion, focus on self-care, surround yourself by positivity and learn to set boundaries. I encourage you to find love that is healthy and fulfilling! Additionally, learn to accept that not everyone “loves” the SAME way! Love “looks” different for everyone. Take a moment to understand and respect each other’s “individual love language.”

If you think you don’t know what “love” looks like, consider these qualities: mutual respect, unconditional love, trust/honesty, emotional support, growth/encouragement, intimacy and faith. Ultimately, the best kind of love is one that brings happiness, fulfillment, and growth to all that are involved. It is a love that is built on a strong foundation of represt, trust, support, and open communication.
