A little Gift from Heaven

As a young couple, we could not imagine life without my mother-in-law. We had so many special moments planned, but God had other plans for all of us. At the same time that we signed adoption papers, we received the call that she was critically ill. As one life left this earth, we would receive our “little gift from God.” It took us a long time to truly grasp that idea. As one life ended, another life would begin. Thirty days after her death, we received our little miracle child.

Adoption was our “little Gift from Heaven.” I write this short post to promote adoption and to increase awareness. I knew adoption was the answer to my prayers as I faced the idea of not bearing children. We have gone through failed adoptions as well. Adoption is a long, difficult process but so is pregnancy or having a miscarriage. I would always tell my children, “you grew in my heart not my belly.” Never once did I think anything different. In my opinion growing in my heart is equal to growing in my belly. Nine years later, we received out second gift. A company called Adopt Help would be the best gift for us. My world consists of my two children. They were created in my heart and loved forever in my heart.

Today, I hope I can assist other people navigate through the adoption process. It is hard to travel down a path that is unfamiliar. It is not the time to feel alone. People need to be able to share their worries or struggles. Adoption will be a focus for me as Pure Balance continues to grow.
